Sustainability
The majority of our rugs are made of pure new wool from New Zealand, where we work with RWS-certified suppliers who comply with the Animal Welfare Act. This includes the humane treatment of sheep, proper grazing, and the avoidance of harmful practices like mulesing. By sourcing wool from these ethical suppliers, we ensure that our rugs are not only luxurious but also responsibly produced.
Using natural materials like wool is inherently advantageous for both quality and sustainability. Where we use other materials like manmade fibres, we make sure they are made from recycled PET yarn. Moreover, we are constantly exploring new developments and opportunities to reduce our ecological footprint. This commitment to sustainability drives us to innovate in our manufacturing processes, seek out eco-friendly materials and implement practices that conserve resources and minimize waste
Our dedication to ethical business practices is further demonstrated by our SMETA certification. SMETA, the Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit, is an audit procedure created by Sedex, aimed at driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices within global supply chains.
SMETA audits are based on four key pillars:
LABOUR STANDARDS
We ensure the fair treatment, working conditions and rights of employees, complying with international labour standards. This includes fair wages, reasonable working hours and the prohibition of child labour and forced labour.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
We prioritize workplace safety by providing proper training, equipment and procedures to protect our employees. Regular safety audits and continuous improvements help us maintain a safe working environment.
ENVIRONMENT
We assess our environmental impact and implement strategies to minimize negative effects. This includes efficient waste management, responsible resource use and pollution control measures. We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and enhancing our sustainability efforts.
BUSINESS ETHICS
We conduct our business with the highest ethical standards. This includes anti-corruption measures, transparency in our operations and responsible sourcing practices. We believe in building long-term relationships based on trust and integrity with all our stakeholders.
At Brink & Campman, our dedication to excellence is deeply intertwined with our commitment to ethical and responsible business practices. To reinforce this, we have established a comprehensive Code of Conduct that governs our operations and interactions, ensuring that we uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.
By integrating our Code of Conduct into every aspect of our operations, Brink & Campman ensures that our rugs are crafted with care, respect and responsibility. Our dedication to high standards, ethical sourcing and sustainable practices means that you can feel confident and proud to bring our beautiful enduring rugs into your home.
With this commitment, we continue to create products that are not only stylish and durable but also ethically and sustainably produced, reflecting our core values in every thread and fibre.
